Terms and Conditions for Educational Trips
Terms and Conditions for Educational Trips
1. Organiser
The China Foods Alliance (mybow gmbh) develops and coordinates educational programmes in collaboration with partner organisations in Switzerland and China. It supports participants in preparing for their trip and coordinates cooperation with the partner organisations and local tour operators.
The China Foods Alliance acts as an intermediary and co-ordinator in this regard, and not as a tour operator. International flights, insurance and other individual travel arrangements are booked by the participants themselves.
The travel package in China (hotels, transfers, domestic flights, guides, training sessions, admission fees and other elements of the programme) is organised and delivered by the relevant partner organisations in China.
The China Foods Alliance is responsible for coordinating and carefully selecting the relevant partners and service providers. The China Foods Alliance shall only be liable for the services, acts or omissions of independent third-party providers to the extent required by law.
2. Registration
Registration can be completed using the registration form on the website or in writing. By registering, the participant accepts these Terms and Conditions. Registration becomes binding upon receipt of the registration fee.
3. Entry requirements
Participants are responsible for ensuring they comply with the entry requirements for China in force at the time of travel. Currently (as of 2026), no visa is required to enter China for a stay of up to 30 days. We reserve the right to make changes due to political or official decisions.
A copy of your valid passport must be provided when booking hotels and other travel services.
Visa requirement
At present, no visa is required to enter China for a stay of up to 30 days. Please note that this rule may change due to political developments.
Passport required
Please ensure that you have a valid passport and send us a copy to the mobile number provided in the confirmation email. The copy of your passport is required for booking hotels and other travel arrangements. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into China.
4. Safety and personal responsibility
The China Foods Alliance and its respective partner organisations shall take appropriate precautions, within the limits of their capabilities, to ensure the programme is carried out safely. Participants undertake to comply with the safety, conduct and operational guidelines issued by the partner institutions and local service providers.
The educational trip consists of a series of stops, transfers, sightseeing tours, visits to markets, cookery classes and other activities. Participation is subject to the usual personal responsibility of the participants. The person responsible is liable for any damage caused by deliberate or improper behaviour.
5. Insurance
The participant must ensure that they have taken out the following insurance policies:
- Travel insurance
- Cancellation insurance
- Kranken- und Unfallversicherung mit Auslanddeckung*
6. Prices and services
The scope of services is as set out in the relevant itinerary on the website. Services not expressly mentioned, in particular international flights, personal expenses, insurance and individual additional services, are not included in the tour price.
Empfohlene Anreisechina
Accommodation from Sunday to Monday is included in the price. Nevertheless, we recommend that participants arrive as early as Friday. We recommend direct flights with Swiss from Zurich or with China Eastern from Geneva. The recommended flights are listed on the website.
Travelling as a group
To make the most of the experience, we recommend travelling as a group wherever possible.
Booking the flight
Participants are responsible for booking their own flights. CFA can offer assistance in choosing a flight.
Extension
Any additional hotel stays before or after the programme will be charged separately.
Sunday Discovery Trip
A Sunday Discovery Trip can be booked for CHF 300.
7. Movetia grant
Selected educational trips may be supported by Movetia, the national agency for exchange and mobility. As only a limited number of funding places are available, grants are primarily awarded to participants who act as multipliers. The funding is aimed in particular at individuals who can pass on the knowledge they have acquired in their professional environment and make a lasting contribution to training and further education within their professional sphere.
These include, amongst others:
- Teachers and educators
- Vocational trainers and apprenticeship supervisors
- Group leader
- Those responsible for initial and continuing training
Funding is awarded in accordance with Movetia’s current guidelines.
8. Offsetting
Registration fee
The remaining participant fee, after deduction of the provisional Movetia grant, is to be treated as a registration fee and must be paid by the due date as stated on the invoice. Once the registration fee has been received, the registration becomes binding and the place is definitively reserved.
Final payment / Credit note
Any outstanding balance must be paid by the due date stated on the invoice. You are only entitled to the services booked once all amounts due have been paid in full.
Movetia's share
80 % of the expected Movetia grant is already deducted from the invoice. The final settlement will take place once the trip has ended and the remaining grant funds have been received from Movetia. The resulting additional grant amount will be credited to the participants. There is no entitlement to a specific grant amount.
9. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by the participant
A refund of 50 % of the registration fee is available up to 60 days before the start of the trip. After that, no refunds will be granted.
substitute
The participant may appoint a substitute who meets all the travel requirements. In this case, part of the trip may be transferred to the substitute, subject to a processing fee and the payment of any additional costs, such as hotel or domestic flight costs.
Alternative arrangements
If possible, the trip can be postponed to a later date. Participants may be given the option to transfer parts of their booking to a future trip.
Force majeure
If the trip cannot take place due to force majeure, refunds or credit notes may be offered, depending on the agreements in place with service providers such as hotels and airlines. In some cases, only a partial refund is possible if costs have already been incurred.
Insurance cover
Participants are strongly advised to check whether their travel insurance covers cancellations due to force majeure.
10. Jurisdiction and applicable law
Swiss law shall apply exclusively to the contractual relationship. By registering, the customer accepts that the registered office of mybow gmbh in Lucerne shall be the exclusive place of jurisdiction.
11. Terms and Conditions
The General Terms and Conditions of mybow gmbh apply. If you do not have a copy of these, you can request one from mybow gmbh at any time.
